How to manage "rental equipment"

Hello,

we sometimes give equipment to our collegues now we want to insert this into glpi and i would like some tips on how i can realise it.
1. We need the name of the equipment
2. We need a duration of rental
3. We need a email notification
4. We need a way for the User to verify that they got the equipment
5. And a way for use to confirm that we got it back

With Object Managment i could create my own menupoint and get most of that but im still looking for a way to verify and send emails.

Maybe use  "reservations" as a workaround?
