Redirect to /glpi/front/inventory.php

Bit of a newbie to GLPI.  Just installed the latest version. 
When I first set it up I could direct the client to http://GLPI-IP/glpi  and the the database would get its data.

Had a bit of a fiddle to improve the security. ie Move config and data files etc and made the server only use https and so on.
Now the client will only supply data to the server if I present the server target as https://GLPI-IP/glpi/front/inventory.php

I have obviously lost the redirect  parameter that was in place which allow for anything presented at GLPI-IP/glpi to be redirected to GLPI-IP/glpi/front/inventory.php

Its not a big problem - more irritating that I can not place the error that I have have somehow introduced.

Does anyone know were the redirect for GLPI-IP/glpi going to GLPI-IP/glpi/front/inventory.php is fulfilled.

Maybe a silly question but one I would like to know / understand.

Also in the future is there likely to be introduction of RSA key authentication for client to server data transfer - out of interest.

Really like the product.
