How to deploy software packages and use SNMP?

Hey guys. I'm new to GLPI and would like to know how to use the GLPI Inventory plugin:

- For deploying software packages;

- To collect information from switches and routers using SNMP;

I couldn't find much information on how to use these two resources. Could you suggest some material?
