Add a controller component to a device

Hi Everyone,

I'm still new to GLPI but already thrilled about it.
Is there a way to add a controller component to a device? I have a "JBOD disc shelf" created as a device and need to add a SAS controller. Of course I could change the type from device to computer and be able to add the controller but it is more a device than a computer.
