Changing SQL password and upgrade GLPI

Hello,

All my GLPI instance works well (ovh).

Nonetheless i would like to change the SQL password. Is it easy ? I guess it's just about changing the config.php inside the glpi directory (step 1) and after that changing on the host dashboard ? (step 2). I guess i have to put maintenance mode to be safe (before step 1 and 2).

Other question :

If i want to update GLPI i just have to fulll backup (files + sql) and after that i download the new version, extract on my HDD and send it to FTP to "crush old file" and start the update by going to "home link" ? (put maintenance mode on before ?)

Thx in advance for your help

Re: Changing SQL password and upgrade GLPI

Hello,

SQL Password : Yes you're right, you need to edit the glpi\config\config_db.php and on th same time on OVH dashboard

GLPI Upgrade :
1 - Backup full server
2 - rename glpi folder to glpi.old
3 - Dowload the last GLPI (10.0.5) folder in the same place
4 - Reach GLPI, you will be asked to upgrade it

If you migrate from 9.X, you will need to upgrade database with many command lines, you will have documentation on GLPI project and I can assist if neeeded
