GLPI - Workflows / BPM features

Hello,

I have been using GLPI since March 2022 after several years with another proprietary and paid ITSM solution, EASYVISTA.
Despite significant shortcomings, I find many virtues in GLPI, and we have no intention of abandoning it for another solution.
The two most striking shortcomings compared to EASYVISTA: the CMDB and the workflows.

What do I mean by workflow?
I mean the ability to associate a ticket type and category with a predefined scenario of tasks and actors. The most commonly cited example is that of onboarding (the arrival of a new employee), which requires multiple interventions from multiple actors, carried out in series or in parallel. After some research, I identified a plugin allowing to link GLPI to a third-party workflow tool, ProcessMaker, of which there is a free community edition, but it is not this edition which is coupling to GLPI, it is an edition modified paying owner. So, white cabbage, except for those who are ready to go this route.

Moreover, the GLPI rules do not allow you to create a task, so this is not a track to follow either.

I therefore ask the question: has anyone solved this lack, and if so how?

Subsidiary question: in the GLPI roadmap, is there a plan to develop a feature of this type?

Re: GLPI - Workflows / BPM features

Hello breizhoo,

For the workflow part, I think this plugin can perform the function:

https://plugins.glpi-project.org/#/plugin/metademands

What's more, it is maintained. Latest commits are recent.

For a CMDB implementation, I let GLPI's guru answer :-)

Regards.

Re: GLPI - Workflows / BPM features

It is on the roadmap.

See "Business process management (BPMN)" under the GLPI Productivity column.

I don't have any more details available to share about that feature currently.

Re: GLPI - Workflows / BPM features

Thanks cconard96, it's positive, but with no description or time frame, I'll have to find a solution on hold. homebrewtainy put me on the track of the MetaDemand plugin, very interesting, but which goes beyond my immediate need. I finally fell back on a native feature of the product, the possibility of automating the creation of x tasks for a given type and category. It doesn't answer everything, but it's a start.
