Entities not working in GLPI 10.0

Hello, we hare deploying GLPI 10.0 in my organization. We are a group of 5 societies, and we have 5 locations, one per society. With this scenario I began renaming the default root entity to "Group", and then I have created 5 child entities, one per company/society. My goal is to associate each user/ticket/asset to their own entity, I think this is the porpuse of the entities, correct me if I am wrong.

Users are being imported from Active Directory (LDAP). When importing I select the correct entity, but users go to root entity always. Furthermore, I can't change the entity after import, the dropdown only shows the root entity.

In the other hand, tickets are created by mail. I have created 5 receivers that fetchs mails from 5 gmail mailboxes. There are one mailbox per society and one receiver per mailbox. Then I have created 5 rules to create tickets with the mails. Each rule has set the entity the tickets must go, but it doesn't work and all tickets are created in root entity.

Finally, assets are collected by the glpi agent. I didn't see how to configure the entity in the agent, the installation program doesn't ask for it, and all assets are assigned to root entity again. Changing the asset's entity after they are collected could be fine for me, but there are no way to change the entity of the asset in the frontend.

So, what is happening? Am I doing something wrong? or really entities are not working good in this version?

Re: Entities not working in GLPI 10.0

This should be possible to automatically assign entities using "Rules for assigning an item to an entity" under Administration > Rules in GLPI.
To change an entity for an asset after it is created, you need to use the Transfer mechanism which will try to manage the entity of the linked items like software and components.
This can be done using bulk actions, or from the asset form under the "Actions" menu in the form header.

Thanks for reply, cconard96. Rules are not working in my case. I have this rule to assign an entity when a ticket is created via email receiver. As you can see, mails received in the mailbox "HelpDesk ALEASTUR" should be assigned to entity "ALEASTUR", which is child of root entity called "GRUPO". Nevertheless, the entity assigned is always "GRUPO" (root entity) instead of the one I set in the rule.

In case of users, I think a rule is not needed since there a dropdown menu in the import screen to select the entity you want the users to be assigned to. But again it doesn't work in my case, and users go to the root entity "GRUPO" instead of the one I choose in the dropdown. What I would like to know is if this behavior is a bug or really I have something wrong configured.

There is a business default rule that assignuser to root, did you disable it or delete it before ?

No... I have realized thanks to your comment, and it is assigning tickets to the default root entity just before my rule. I have disabled it right now, will let you know if the problem is solved next week. Thanks for your help.

Re: Entities not working in GLPI 10.0

Hello,

did you solved your issue?! We have similar problem. We have one main entity, and then we created second entity under this main entity. Before upgrade to version 10, averything works OK, users with both entities was able to switch between entities. After upgrade to version 10, there is no possibility to change entity if both of them are with same user profile self-service. Only user wich have self-service in one entity and technician in second entity are able to switch between them based on role.
Anny suggestion how to solve this problem?
