Really weird issue!
My GLPI server is CentOS and the /etc/resolv.conf is correctly configured. I can dig/nslookup from the command line perfectly (any combo of hosts and FQDNs). I can also telnet:25 to my mail server (via hostname) and manually push a mail through without problems.
However... GLPI refuses to pass the LDAP test or SMTP mail test with hostnames. If I enter IP's instead, LDAP and SMTP mails work fine.
It would seem to me that GLPI is using some other DNS server list. Where is this?
Thanks

GLPI haven't server DNS list.
To confirm that the problem is in your server DNS, put IP and name server in /etc/hosts
CentOS 6.5 - CentOS 7.x

Bizarrely enough the issue appears to have resolved itself overnight with no apparent explanation.
I hate computers sometimes!
Thanks anyway.
