Various Field are defined as Integer but should be varchar

Hi,

i have found that many data fields that allow only integer values as input.

But this makes no sense, eg for the processor frequency.
First, the frequency can be a float, 2.66 and to make sense to the value one have to know if it is Mhz or Ghz.

The same with harddrives: 1.5, what MB, GB, or TB ??

I think all these values should be varchar. With this i can enter correct default values and everyone is happy

I hope this is not reported before. I shuffeled through the forum and found post regarding the entry of processor frequency but this seems to be something more and since my french is a little bit rusty (sorry for that) i might have missed a french report.

So far i have found this misbehaviour in:
- processor
- memory
- hardrive

only integer values are allowed to have a unity standardization.
Processor are in MHz, memory and harddrive in Mo.

If we permit varchar values, it won't be possible to make statistics.
