Small problem on getting all installed software by computer location

Hello all,

maybe someone out there who has a solution for me or others with the same problem, too.

Problem:
I need a selection or output on all installed software reflecting only the selected computer location or domain.

Setup:
All under one Entity.
Software is imported via OCSNG mode "Unit import" and added with Default license type "Site license (global)"
Computers are imported via OCSNG mode using "TAG" for Location, Group and Network.

When i select all software and add a global search criteria for Location with the TAG name i get all software installed for this location. But it still shows me all installations in field "Licences" for example "Global license  Installations: 10" and not only the installations selected for this Location because even the field "Licences" is "Global".

Is there any solution for this?

Thank you in advance and best regards, Steffens.

OS : Ubuntu 8.04.4 tls on VSphere server

Re: Small problem on getting all installed software by computer location

Just updated my testsystem to 0.72 RC2 ("very nice" )and still shows up the same problem. I thought when i add global search criteria it should decrease the number of installations to fit the selected criteria. I don't know if it is a bug, a missconfiguration or an upcoming feature.

Best regards, Steffens.

you searched on the software location ?
To filter on computer search on the location of the computers.

Re: Small problem on getting all installed software by computer location

I searched on software because i need all installed software for one location including number of installations. This i cannot do in computers.

do it in software but use the meta criteria (red +) to add search condition on computers.

Re: Small problem on getting all installed software by computer location

This is exactly what i did. But when i add this meta criteria (Computer -> Location=Paris) the number of installations of maybe "adobe reader" is not decreasing, it is still the same so it shows me the complete number of installations, not only from computers in Paris.

Re: Small problem on getting all installed software by computer location

yes you are right because installations use a different count system of the computers.
2 differents links are done between tables to compute the 2 informations.

Maybe you should use entities if you want such informations ?
Or create a specific report.
