Migrating to another server

I need to migrate my GLPI from test virtual machine to production server. Is it enough just to copy GLPI directory to another location or should I reinstall it and copy settings? And if, which files are settings?

Regards,
Vladimir

Re: Migrating to another server

I would reinstall and restore the database.  If you have not upgraded to 71.5 now's the time!

If you do decide to install it on a new server ,  DO NOT POINT IT TO THE CURRENT GLPI DATABASE.  It will be wiped and with default values.  (I learned that the hard way but I had a backup smile )

Re: Migrating to another server

well I don't have anything that I could loose in db except all customization I have made (color themes etc...). How about AD authentication. Do I have to enter all settings one more time or is it written in sql/xml dump. And which one of those is better?

Thanks,
Vladimir

Re: Migrating to another server

SQL dump will contain all of your configuration including ldap and NTLM auth if you have it configured.

I never restored from the XML.
