Checklist plugin

I was looking for a way to create a master template of tasks that have to be done, that could be assigned as sub-tasks of a ticket and I have just installed the checklist plugin because it looks like it should do that, however it is in the "Not Improved" section on the downloads page.

Does this mean that:
1) It isn't going to be improved for 0.72     or
2) It just hasn't been done _yet_

If it's not going to be done for the future releases then I don't want to change my working method now and then loose that function when I upgrade and have to revert back, but if it will be then I will start using it soon!
