Our implementation of GLPI is expanding, we're starting to use more of the features and it's good. However, one thing that I' have found that I have a question about is the "Technician in Charge" field.
In this field I get a list of the relevant technicians, but what I would rather do is assign the responsibility to a Group rather than an individual. This is so that when someone leaves it is possible to change who is in the group, rather than have to look through the system and find every instance where the person leaving is marked as being in charge etc...
Has anyone else done this or any thoughts on how it can be done?
Thanks.
Chris.

Just noticed that I didn't point out that this is in the Inventory section - identifying the "Technician in Charge" of the particular hardware.
Thanks.

Thats what i had figured after I read your psot a second time.
I think your best bet would be to just do a search by technician in charge and then do a mass modification to update the technician in charge.

Thanks for your reply Plight - I figured that might be the case... my boss wants to have things identified by job rather than by person... easier said than done I thought!

Personally, I dont bother with the "technician in charge" on assets unless its a special case (ie a server or an executive's computer).
I generally use "Technician in charge of ticket" for the notifications. This keeps technicians from being tied directly to your assets and would keep you from having to manage the "technician in charge". From what your asking for, this looks like it would make your boss happy.
