Few probably easy questions

Hello,

I have successfully installed OCS Inventory and GLPI onto a box running Ubuntu. The applications are running well, however, I think I missed something and I was hoping someone could help me.

First, I can see the IPDiscovered items in my OCS software and I registered a few but they are not importing into GLPI, neither the networks Ive set up or these registered devices.

Second, and this is probably more of an issue with my not understanding how the software works fully, I deleted a computer from GLPI to import it again so the rule I had just set up would change its entity from root to the domain I added. When I run the OCSNG import this computer I deleted does not import again, how can I get it to do this? Bonus points for explaining how I can change the entity of already imported items.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Few probably easy questions

IPDiscover result cannot be import into GLPI. We don't find an easy way to do this (not enough information in OCS to apply the rule engine for entity)

If you delete a computer, it goes to the trash. You'll have to empty the trash to import it again.

You can change a computer of entity using the "transfert" function.

Re: Few probably easy questions

Thanks for the info on the IP discover I can add those manually

I found the trash option so I purged the PC and it shows up as a computer I can imoprt, however, no matter how many times I hit import it would not. I did successfully import it using the manual import so Im past that snag but I still cannot change computers to a different entity. I use the transfer option and it does nothing. There is a transferrence interface that allows me to create some type of rule but it seems to only show what data should be kept after the transfer, gives no option to transfer to another entity

Re: Few probably easy questions

It seems the dropdown to select the entity isnt working properly. All I have is root entity. I have created three entities using the administration - > entities function but still only root entity displays

Re: Few probably easy questions

also there is a little green wrench symbol next to the entities drop down which should allow me to add additional entities but this Icon does not work.
