Search view syntax

GLPI 0.71.2 and OCS are set up and communicating, everything seems to be working fine, after a bit of figuring out how things work.  So far we are liking what we see.

The pre-canned reports aren't terribly useful, but the search function in the computer inventory list looks like it will make up for it, but I can't quite master the syntax to list what I want.

Broad question:  Is there a guide on what syntax works in the search fields?  It appears to be regular expression-based, but not completely.

Specific question: I am trying to get a list of computers with their associated monitors and monitor serial numbers.  I can add the global search criteria for the monitor name to the Computer inventory list (servername/glpi/front/computer), but the column does not appear if the search criteria is left blank.  I can get the column to appear by using a caret (^), but only computers with monitors appear in the list.  If I use AND NOT ^, only the computers without associated monitors appear.  Both these lists are useful, but I would like a single list of all computers, with columns for monitor names, lDs, serial numbers, with the fields simply blank for computers that do not have associated monitors.  Is this possible?

Or am I trying to do this in the wrong place within GLPI, or with the wrong tools?

Thanks.

Re: Search view syntax

You could use the plugin report to have other sorts of report.

For the guide you could have a look to the documentation in the wiki (french is more update but you need to use a translator sorry)

For your spécific question you can't have both.
