Hello,
I am trying to find a way for searching in all objects (Computers, Networks, Phones, etc.) for IP address. Is this possible? Until now I have always to switch between the categories.
The search in the right upper corner is not working for this. Does somebody has a idea?
Thanks!

There is no direct option for this...
You can try the very usefull "addressing" plugin.
Il allow you to build a report of (un)used IP address for a lan, with a link to the devices.

Mhmm this plugins looks quit interesting. May be it is enough.
By the way it is not scheduled to insert some really global search?
Thanks!

Just searching for what criterias are implemented in the global search, and...
Search for IP works ! (at least with GLPI >= 0.71)
But only for computer and networking... printer and phone are missing...

Yes this is working without problem except when you search for "only" 192.168. then mysql is very slow. It is also not possible to search "192.168.*", then GLPI give something like "Nothing found".
I made an INDEX for the tables where I found IP addresses inside, but it didnt increased the query time. Is the GLPI query searching in some other tables too?
Thanks!

Don't use 192.168.* but simply ^192.168. which must be really faster.

I'm really stupid (or tired).
That works for all the item in the inventory, you just need to add the IP column in the default view for each item...

From computer/phone/metworking.. list, add the IP column (use the + button on the first column)

Ohhh I see. Thats nice. Is it possible to save the different default items as templates? I tried to use "Save bookmark". But it is always my custom items or all items in every bookmark.
Thanks!
