I have user manuals and other technical documents for equipment that we install and maintain for many clients. Is there a way to upload 1 copy of a document in the Root Entity and create a web link to it from any other entities?
This would be very helpful.
Thank you in advance.

In version >= 0.71
Create the doc in the root entity and set the recursive flag on ("Child entities" in the form) and the doc will be visible on all your entities.

I tried that, and it soed not work. My entity tree is:
Root
Entity1 Entity2 Entity3
Child1,2,3 Child1,2,3 Child...
I am trying to associate a document saved at the root level, with a device in Entity1 Child1, but I don't see the document. I cannot see the (root) document from Entity1 either.
If I store a doc in entity1 I can see it in child1 or Child2, etc. of Entity1.
Running GLPI 0.71 on FreeBSD 7, Apache 2, PHP5, MySQL5
Browser: Firefox 3 on Mindows XP
Thanks

Hi,
I just tried it on your demo (version 0.72) and it works. On my installation, I can see the root document from the Management/Documents screen, but the doc does not appear in the web link drop down.
Is this an issue in 0.71?

Check the "Child-entites" tag of your doc in root entity.
It should show up.
Allow try with latest version (0.71.2) some bugs have been fixed.
