reset mysql database credential

very impressed w/ glpi and ocs.  have come across some posts here that have helped with the setup.  ive come up with this fix on my own and wanted to share.  not sure if it is the ordained method for updating the credentials glpi uses to communicate with mysql, but it works.  i installed glpi in a test scenario and decided after populating the knowledgebase with some sensitive information, that i better secure it.  i created a username w/ appropriate permissions in xampp's phpadmin.  next, i renamed config_db.php to config_db.old in glpi/config.  this allowed me to rerun the setup.  i set the language, selected UPGRADE, then entered the new db credentials.  the next screen warned that i was about to update the db, so I cancelled out of the setup.  i was kind of worried when i saw that it had created a new config_db.php that i had lost all my configuration work, but it hadn't.  the database was still intact.  i hope this helps someone.

Re: reset mysql database credential

The other solution is to edit the config_db.php to enter the new login/password.
