VIPs and Rules

I'm not sure if I have understood how the Rules work as I have tried to make a rule, but it does not seem to be working as I thought it would.

I have created a Group called "VIPs" and assigned the company Directors to this group.

I have created a Business Rule called "VIPs Rule" that looks like this.

Criteria:
    Criteria     Condition     Reason
    Requester - Group    is    VIPs
Action:
    Fields    Action type    Value
    Priority    Assign    Very High

However, when the members of the group submit a ticket it still comes in with it's standard priority, it does not get changed to Very High.

Does anyone one have any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.
C.

Re: VIPs and Rules

Requester group is the one of the equipment not of the user.

Re: VIPs and Rules

Thanks Remi.  Must I assume that it's not possible to change a rule based on the person that requests the ticket? sad

Re: VIPs and Rules

Yes, you must with GLPI <= 0.71.

This will probably change in a future release.

Please could you clarify this...  Does this mean that you must associate the Equimpment with a Group, or rather, associate the Equipment with a person (who is a member of a Group)?

I'm planning to install OCSng, so I'm thinking that when the inventory is populated that I should put the Director's computer and printer in a group of "VIP equipment", or should I associate his equipment with him and put him in a groups of "VIPs"

I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for your help smile

Re: VIPs and Rules

Did you ever clarify this?  I find the concept of entities a bit confusing given that there are allready groups and profiles. When is appropriate to use one or another? How does the "recursive" aspect play into this? Why do Entities have hierchies? I must start learning french!
