External Authentication

First of all I want to say this is an incredible piece of software. It exactly what I've been looking for. I'm eager to see what gets added next.
Also is there an update on the OCS plugin?

Now to my problem:
When I go to External Authentication It doesn't seem to have everything installed. I get the following errors.

IMAP/POP configuration
Your parser PHP was compiled without the IMAP functions
Impossible to use IMAP/POP as external source of connection

LDAP configuration
The LDAP extension of your parser PHP is not installed
Impossible to use LDAP as external source of connection

CAS configuration
Extension CURL or DOMXML of your parser PHP is not installed
Impossible to use CAS as external source of connection

I'm new to php and I don't quite understand what needs to be done. I've looked around on the web and from what Ive found I need to compile php w/LDAP or IMAP. How do I do this? Will this affect my OCS-NG and GLPI installations if I do this now?
I have them both installed on a windows XP machine.
Thanks
-John

Re: External Authentication

you need to install php package for these extensions : imap ldap ...
their names are commonly : php-imap php-ldap...

Re: External Authentication

Just go in your php.ini and erase ";" before extension=php_ldap.dll

Re: External Authentication

The work with the OCS team continues. Some new features have been added in the CVS.
A new version will be released soon.

Re: External Authentication

OK I got that to work ( I think) but I get an error when I try to log in that says; "Unable to log in, make sure your browser accepts cookies" My browser does accept cookies. I have looked in forum and translated some of the threads (thanks to Google). But I'm not sure what is meant by the resolutions. Something about capitol letters I think. Can you shed some light on this?

Re: External Authentication

Hi all
I've got the same problem
I've rename sAMAccountName in samaccountname (not capital letters)

Definitely, for Active Directory I use this settings:

name: samaccountname
email: mail
location: physicaldeliveryofficename
phone: telephonenumber
realname: cn

bye

Re: External Authentication

Félicitation pour ce logiciel que je test depuis 2 jours ..!

About External Authentication :

If you employ easyphp, employ the php configuration/extention_PHP and activate the php_imap, php_ldap, php_DOMXML and php_curl

Re: External Authentication

to autenticate in the active directory, you must use the logon of the user without the domain
for exemple
my ad domain is  trucmuch.com
my user is mr Smiss, his login is normally  trucmuch\smiss   or smiss@trucmuch.com
in glpi the login must be smiss          without any thing else

Plateforme :
OS : Windows 2003 Sp1 / logiciel de décompactage : Winzip / Navigateurs : Internet Explorer 6sp1 / firefox 1.5
Installation : Package Ocs NG RC3  - XAMPP version 1.5.1
Serveur  : Apache 2.0.55 / Base : 5.0.18-nt / Langage : PHP 5.1.1 / PhpMyAdmin 2.7.0-pl1

Re: External Authentication

Hi.  I am having the same erro message at the bottom:

Extension CURL or DOMXML of your parser PHP isn't installed

Impossible to use CAS as external source of connection

I can authenticate, however there isn't any use information coming over like first and last name, etc...

I have both php5-ldap and php5-imap installed.

I am not seeing anything in /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini that referes to ldap or curl, am i looiking in the righ tplace?

Ubuntu Server 7.04
'
Will this resolve the issue with not seeing any user information?

Thnaks!

Re: External Authentication

Hi,

I just did an upgrade to my GLPI from 0.68.3-2 to 0.7-RC3. I have LDAP external authentication setup. After the upgrade I'm not able to get authenticated it comes with the following error: Unable to connect to the LDAP directory. What file can I check for the LDAP configuration in order to find the problem and fix it?

Thanks,

Fernando Bardia

Re: External Authentication

I have installed .70.2 in Ubuntu Server 7.1 and when I click on "Mail Gateway" under "Setup", I get the error "Your parser PHP was compiled without the IMAP functions".  I have php5 with IMAP and ldap installed, too.  I'm not sure how to configure it properly, I'm guessing, because it's still not working correctly.

Any assistance would be great!  Thank you in advance!!

Re: External Authentication

Yes.  I installed both with

# apt-get install php5-imap
# apt-get install php5-ldap

Both completed successfully, too.

edit:

Thank you for your very quick response!!  I greatly appreciate it!
