followup customization in tickets

Hey Team,

I want to use GLPI for allowing my users to request for temporary id cards and an admin will approve that card by providing the temporary card number. Now the IT Team will activate that card to the end user.

Here the issue is we are able to track the issuance of card but we need to track return of that card within the same ticket... any idea please

Is there no other way like reservations (with a very long time) or a plugin?

Why don't you consider ID cards as Badges and manage cards with badges plugin ? https://plugins.glpi-project.org/#/plugin/badges

so you can manage validity,  owner, ticket associated with this badge and so on ...
