what's the best way to define an application asset?

Hi there,

What's the best practice to inventory an application?

Take GLPI itself as an example, the GLPI service request at least below assets:
1. OS
2. Database Server
3. Web Server (normally we can ignore this)
4. Software (GLPI)

All above 4 items together make the GLPI service. So that we can make proper record (ticket/change/problem) to associate with the service.

Any suggestion?
