Confirmation of email setup

Hi everyone,

I have GLPI 9.4.2/Fusion Inventory installed and running on Ubuntu 18.04 and receiving emails (IMAP from office365) fine, however sending is not working.

I have installed ssmtp and its config file is:

  mailhub=smtp.office365.com:587
  hostname=xxmyhostname.comxx
  root=xxusername@domain.comxx
  FromLineOverride=NO  (I have also had this set to YES)
  AuthUser=xxusername@domain.comxx
  AuthPass=xxpasswordxx
  UseTLS=YES
  UseSTARTTLS=YES
  rewriteDomain=xxdomainxx.com

I can send from the command line:

  echo "E-Mail using the command-line" | ssmtp -vvv -f "xxusername@domain.comxx" my_gmail_address

But get the red error message when I try from the email notifications page.

So...

1) Should ssmtp be OK with GLPI? Anything else needed?

2) What should the "Way of sending emails" be set to - I have tried them all.

3) Any PHP or other dependencies that can be checked

3) There's nothing in the host or glpi logs, and nothing obvious shows up when running in debug mode.

Apologies if there is a concise setup doc that answers these - I have tried various searches and only turned up individual blogs and guides of various ages, all with different suggestions.

Any help is appreciated.

Update: I have continued with GLPI configuration and added some test tickets...and emails are being sent!

But I still get an error message if I "Send a test email to the administrator"
