Cannot connect to MySQL database

Hello,
I'm trying to install GLPI 9.2.3 for testing purposes.
Once i get passed the initial testing of all the php extensions here comes my problem.
My SQL server is the localhost so therefore i enter localhost as the MySQL server then i add my credentials and i get this message :"The server answered: Sever sent charset unknown to the client. Please, report to the developers"
I also tried entering my IP address instead of localhost but still no success, i get the same message.

MySQL version 8.0.12
PHP version 5.6 (I have not yet updated the PHP, because this is the main focus of all testing)

I have found the solution, simply downgrading my MySQL Server version solved the problem.
There was a conflict between the CHARSET of MySQL so i assume that in the version 8.0.12 of MySQL Server this can be set to a specific charset.
