can't send e-mail alarms

Hi,
i have glpi working, but am not able to send e-mail alarms. From the Setup --> Notifications panel, after adding contacts I press the test button, receive ok result, but nothing is sent.
Any ideas?

Put glpi in debug mode, have a look in files/ xxl.og

Have a look also on your server log

ok, I fixed it. Now I notice that I can only add a group to the notification list, not individual user. Is this correct?
