Add a field to GLPI

I would like to add a field labeled "rack" to the computer inventory item in GLPI. I have looked through the documentation and searched Google but cant figure out how to add the field. If anyone has any advise, please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Add a field to GLPI

Chris,

what should be the purpose of those field ? Are you talking about the type of the computer/server, if it's rackmountable or do you want to add a "rack" where the computers are mounted to ? If so, I think there is an existing plugin where you can add computer racks to the system, but not sure what your primary goal is.

RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 ES 32Bit x86
PHP 5.1.6 -- Apache 2.2.3
MySQL 5.0.45  --  GLPI 0.72.4 -- OCS 1.32 -- Home brewed MS CM import script

Re: Add a field to GLPI

My purpose would be to add the rack that the servers is physically located in. I will search the plugins and see if I can fin the plugin you mentioned.

Thanks!

Re: Add a field to GLPI

The rack plugin sounds like exactly what I've been looking for.  TSMR, When you say the "next version", what version do you mean?  0.71.6 or 0.72+?  Thanks.
