Has anyone had any experience using GLPI with a handheld barcode scanner in someway?

Hello
it can work, but the problem is rhat the serial number read is not the same as the one given by ocs...
so you have to modify it by hand..

What I'm asking about more specifically is an interface to access GLPI with something like this:
Motorola MC9090-G

I'm not sure that the regular web application would be very functional through Pocket IE.

I have tried a simple bar code scanner, connected to a computer on an usb-port.
The default settings in the scanner were to send an “Enter key stroke” after reading the bar code. Off course this is not a good solution if you are using it directly in the GLPI because the form will submit after each bar code. So I had to change that behaviour.
Our plan is not to use the bar code scanner in GLPI but to use it on a simple Excel file so we can walk around in each building and read serial number, product number, license number on the computer and then serial number and product number on the connected screen. And when we are finish with the building import the file content to GLPI with a simple php script.
