Hi,
I noticed, that when I simulate a client and send a email followup, I get a "copy" response of my own followup to my email. Is there any way to disable that copy sending, as I think it is unnecessary email for the client side to get a copy of his/her own followup reply.
I checked the notification -> New followup -> Recipients and there's Requester, Technician and Watcher as a recipient, but I recon that if you remove the Requester, the client won't get any followups.

Hi,
go to "My Setting" in "Personalization": "Notifications for my changes" = No.
it's possible to change this setting for the users going to user's administration.
GLPI 0.90.3 - MySql 5.5.46-0 - Apache 2.4.10 - Debian 8u1

Thanks for the reply,
that did the trick, at least for a users personal settings. I suppose there's no universal setting for a specific profile, for example to the post-only profile, that would affect all users currently using the post-only as a default profile.

Back to the previous problem.
The setting mentioned above does not seem to fix the followup problem. I changed the Notifications for my changes to No in My Settings and also in General default settings. It works partly, as it does not send me an email when assigning myself as a technician and also when I type a solution as a technician.
However it still sends a copy of my followups to my email whether I play a role of o client or a tehcnician. So the main problem of the followups "copy-to-self" feature remains.

You can change the value of "notification_to_myself" for all users attached to a specific profil using mysql request.
exemple for profil "post-only":
UPDATE `glpi`.`glpi_users` SET `notification_to_myself` = '0' WHERE `profiles_id` =1;
GLPI 0.90.3 - MySql 5.5.46-0 - Apache 2.4.10 - Debian 8u1

Did you ever find a fix for this? We have this exact same issue now with 0.90.1 - don't remember having this issue previously (in the 0.84 or 0.85 versions).
I've set the "Notifications for my changes" settings (personally for my account and globally as the default for all) and regular "users" always receive an e-mail with their own followups in...
Additionally, I've edited the row in MySQL so that my user account is set to 0 for "notification_to_myself"and I still receive notifications containing my own followups...

Bump.
I've discovered that the setting "Notifications for my changes" does in fact work, but is only applicable for followups made from within the GLPI web UI (which currently we don't let our users use until I'm happy we have it configured securely).
So, if a user who has this setting turned to "Yes" adds a followup from within GLPI, they receive an e-mail notification as well as the admin/technician etc.
If a user sets it to "No", or it's set globally, then they DON'T receive a notification of the followup AS LONG AS THEY USE THE WEB UI to make the followup/change.
If ANYBODY uses e-mail to send followups, they appear to always get notified no matter how they have that setting configured.
What I want to do is DISABLE notifications for user's OWN CHANGES/FOLLOWUPS when made by e-mail. I can't seem to figure out how at the moment.
Can anyone help?

Hi Everyone,
we're exploring the same problems with Version 0.9.5 and newer. Our Users are only communicating via email and we don't want them to use the GUI.
I'd be very happy for a solution......

That was figured out already. Explaining doesn't solve the problem though.
I'm having the exact same issue as ppennanen, rodhull and sebastian.
What I want to do is DISABLE notifications for user's OWN CHANGES/FOLLOWUPS when made by e-mail. I can't seem to figure out how at the moment.
This sums it up. In other words, how can we configure GLPI so that the requester only gets notified of followups by the technician?
Thanks in advance.

I have no problem on my system. Do you use latest version ?
You can mark this threat as [resolved] in subject of your threat. (This is only available edit of the first post.) It is good for users who help others to quickly see which post is still open.

I actually use 9.3.4 version. Is there a fix for this in newer versions?
What's the version that permits you to work without problems?
