Components managment like the management of devices

Hello, i've searched here, but i can't find answer to my question, so i'll ask

Is there any way, to manage the Components in one Computer (HDD, RAM, DVD, etc) in the way that Devices (keyboards for example) are handled? I need serial number, date of purchase, financial information. etc... All the fields that are available for keyboards, or computer systems.

If there is no official way to do this, is there a hack or a plugin or something else, that can give me this functionality.

It is crucial for me, because i can't make the inventory i need otherwise.

I need this information too because in my office lot of computer parts is mergeing to another one.
So when eg. One cdrom are moved to another one ocs agent send information to server the CDROM disappear from one PC.
But another agent send information that a new CDROM arrived in to second PC.

How can I:
- set for parts of computer inventory numbers? I can move it later from one to another PC manualy
or - identyfi this same parts of PC in few difrent machines?
