Possible to add an inventory type?

I'm interesting in also tracking furniture and fixtures in GLPI. Is there a way to add an additional inventory category?

I created a plugin for other assets which might fall into this category.  However, because its a plugin, it doesn't show in the status area.

webaccounts,  What are the chances we could get a look at the addon you have written.  I am working on a similar addon myself and would like to start from somewhere other than zero.
