Hello,
Im trying to create a user who has read (and possibly write) access to all the computers and devices that fall under the same location as them. Currently I can only allow them access to all computers and devices.
eg. the user is in the location "management" and is able to view all inventory (or possibly limited to computers and devices) that are also in the location management.
If not possible to allow them to view only items in their location, what about only items that they are the user of, or in the same group as them.
Thanks, any advice is greatly appreciated.

About the only thing I can think of would be to use Entities that are the same as your location boundries you want. This would be a manual thing though.

Thanks for your response, i'm not too sure how this would work. Could you explain a little more?
Cheers

Hello
In your case, you have to use entity.
in GLPI, you define a hierarchy of entity, to match your needs.
then you have to define rules to :
1/ place automatically new computers into this entity
2/ give use rights and profiles on this entity
note that you can give users access to entites with recursivity, which means that the user has access to the entity and all the sub-entity below it.
