Upgrading to 9.xxx and PHP versions

My topic somehow was closed but I need to solve it to the end.

I tested all functions in 9.xxx and it is working. I want to upgrade in place the working GLPI on XAMPP. The problem is that the running Xampp has PHP 5.3.1 and according manuals you should have php > 5.4.

I got answer that GLPI will not work on 5.3.1

I checked and it seems that I can only upgrade to

Apache 2.4.4
  + MySQL 5.5.32 (Community Server)
  + PHP 5.4.31 (VC9 X86 32bit thread safe) + PEAR

it is the last XAMPP version supporting windows 2003.

The later Xampp version do not support Windows 2003. My question is if the GLPI 9.1.xx will work well on such configuration?

Is PHP 5.4.31  > 5.4 ?

So yes.

BTW, wanting to run "latest" software version on an "old" openrating system is just a bad idea.

Update the server, and then update GLPI, and use maintained version of PHP (5.6+)
