Multiple glpi databases?

Hello ,

We have a glpi instalation running in site A and another four (4) different sites that want to connect to our database. We want

the administrators from each single site whenever they login to glpi to have access (view) only to the computers, printers , users etc

belong to their site and the whole list. So far the database is build in our site only and want expand as explained above.

Thank you very much.

Re: Multiple glpi databases?

See "entities" and give other user only right to the proper entity.

Re: Multiple glpi databases?

HI,
GLPI version ?

i think you should use entities  BCDE,and A2
move all your assets and users from root(entity A) to  A2.
assign to users a profile valid on their entity
assign to admin a profile valid on root (recursive mode)

then you should have

Root
(admin with recursive profile)

|_____entity A2
-users(requesters) from site A (post only profile valid on entity A2)
-Users(technicians) from site A (tech profile valid on entity A2)
          -asset from site A
          -tickets from site A
|_____entity B
-users(requesters) from site B (post only profile valid on entity B)
-Users(technicians) from site B (tech profile valid on entity B)
          -assets from site B
          -tickets from site B
|_____entity C
-users(requesters) from site C (post only profile valid on entity C)
-Users(technicians) from site C (tech profile valid on entity C)
          -assets from site C
          -tickets from site C

Re: Multiple glpi databases?

Fantastic!....! Thanks a lot guys for your response..  will go through it right away...

My Glpi version is 0.90.1. The thing is that we started using glpi just for "local" use and populated the db with users , pc, tikcets etc

and didnt have to look for entities.. But now colleagues from other cities want to join their sites and i am trying to figure out hou to do

it and especially that being done with rules - automatically by ip range and  not manually..

Thanks alot again .. Have a great day
