Locations dropdown error in new user page

Hello everyone!

I installed 0.84.7 GLPI on Centos 6

And everything was ok.
I add several locations to dropdown and added several users.
There was dropdown box of Locations in New user page.
Today it is dissapeared.

%D0%A1%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%BA%20%D1%8D%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B0%202014-09-02%20%D0%B2%2016.57.17.png

But I still can see Location dropdown if I open existing user page.

I guess I made some wrong settings.
How I can get Location dropdown box and search and add buttons back on the new user page?

Thanks a lot!

Could you pass un Debug mode to see if you have errors ?
Have you errors in logs files ?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

I add several locations to dropdown and added several users.

how ? by using setup>dropdowns>location ?
what about the entities ?
are the new users in an entity where the location is available ?

I've add several locations using add ("+") button near Location dropdown on New user page.
All Locations are in Root entity.
But! First time when I was adding Locations I was able to set them as child of Root entity. Now I can't.
I can't change Location's entity to Root entity and also it is disabled to set Root entity as a parent entity of new location on the New location page.

Btw, there is no errors in logs.
And I also not so good in debug mode but in first table (SQL Queries) Errors column is empty.

Thank you.

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

go to setup>dropdowns>location
check if all the location are here.
then for each location set "chlid-entity" to "YES"

when you set child entity to "yes" it should stay to "YES". you don t need to set it several time.

how many entities do you use ?
can you "navigate" in each entity ?

if you create a new user in root, can you set location ?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

I just check may be it can help to set to 'NO'
It doesn't, so I set child entity to 'YES'

I have 8 entities as a child of Root entity, some of them with their own childs, some are not.
Totally 35 rows.
I can "navigate" in each entity.

New user creates in Root by default and the problem is the same.
I create new user without Location dropdown box.
After that I navigate to new user and see Location dropdown box available to be set with all Locations I have.

But how I can activate Location on New user page?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

Hi,
now i think i undeerstand your problem.

I don't think you have ever seen the location dropdown on a new user form.

the user class has a test "show location if user has an ID" but a new user has no ID.
the user is associated to an entity by some rules when you clic in "add".
the dropdown location needs to know the users entity to display the available location fot this entity.

that's why you can't set the location to a new  user (that has no entity set yet)

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

Unfortunatelly, I've already created several users with Location dropdown before occured this issue.
I'll try to reinstall glpi to the new clear database and will check if you right or not.

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

So, I've installed new glpi and try to create New user.

I have Location dropdown box. I can add new locations using "add" ("+") button and then I can choose added location for new adding user on the New user page.

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

it was just to check if there where several :answer is "yes"  at least : root and itv.
your 2 screenshots look different, are you using the same browser ? (round corners for title)

in the second you can set the user entity. do you remember if the entity was set in the first post?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

Yep, different browsers.
It is no matter what browser I use.
I checked first version. No Location in both browsers.
I checked clear (second) version. Location dropdown box exist in both browsers.

I guess some settings I made occured this issue.
I have no idea which parameter removed Location dropdown from New user page.
I'm afraid, I have to compare settings in both versions and compare all columns in mysql tables glpi_locations in both versions of my installation of glpi.

No difference.
Absolutely the same settings of general setup in both installations of glpi.

What do you mean by "first version" and "second version"?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

I mean that I have "First" installation with Locations dropdown issue in New user page.
And I've installed clear glpi on another host (new installation on clear mysql database).
And there is no Locations dropdown issue.
Actually first time I've installed "First" glpi there wasn't Location dropdown issue there.
I guess, I made some settings and issue occured.

I try to investigate how to solve this issue on the "Frist" installation.

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

Do you have a default profile defined in the installation with issue?

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

Mmm... Do you mean default user?
Yes, I have 'glpi' user.
I also have another user with 'Super-admin' role.
And this user have the same issue with Locations dropdown on the New user page.

Re: Locations dropdown error in new user page

I've uploaded glpi_locations and glpi_users table to new database.
I dumped new database with that tables to old one.
Same thing in different browsers.
