Dear all,
I would like to prevent email notification when the email receiver is the same person than the person who currently has done the modification.
Example: I (as technician assigned to a ticket) have just added a follow-up, and (as follow-ups notifications have been configured) I'll receive an email to tell me the someone (=me of course) has added a new follow-up...
This is really annoying... we (as technicians) receive a lot of useless emails...and of course real useful emails are hidden by the others...
Could you provide a solution or an idea for this problem?
thank you,
regards,
Tomolimo

In your settings, you have an option "Notifications for my changes"
CentOS 6.5 - CentOS 7.x

Good to know!
In which GLPI version, I can't find it?
thank you,

tomolimo, I know that in 0.83.91, you can leave "Follow-up - Writer" out of the Recipient category. This will prevent you from receiving an email that you wrote a follow-up. I believe this is the first version that added this capability.
In regards to upgrading, most upgrades that are compatible with 0.83.8 are compatible with 0.83.91. This is a worthy upgrade to make. We haven't upgraded to 0.84, yet, because of the plugin limitations. I'm sure this will soon not be a problem, as most plugin developers are updating their code.

Thank you very much MEI-IT, but as we have more than 5000 end-users and more than 130 technicians, we cannot upgrade without dealing with trainings....
And more over, we have home-made plugins and core-modifications...
thank you,

I understand your reluctance to upgrade. Luckily, we just implemented GLPI, so were able to upgrade right before we started training and releasing. There are minor differences between .8 and .91. Knowing how much you have vested, 0.84 would not be a good implementation at this time, but throw an upgrade of .91 onto a test server. The changes might be so minor that you won't need to update much training at all, and your plugins may still work.
If you don't mind sharing, what kind of core-modifications have you made?

I don't mind, but this is not the right place to do it !
You may use the dev email distribution list for that, or create a new post
Or (and i think this is the best) you can email me directly using the email feature (see below my avatar)
