Groups and entities

What is the difference between "groups" and "entities" in GLPI?

You can have more than one group in one entities

For example :
- entity = company
- group = department.

when your inventory and helpdesk items must not be seen by everybody -> entity
when you want to group people of devices -> group

I post 2 new records in Entities. And I want 2th reg is child of 1th. ID=0 is Root.
1 Administration > Entities > Hierarchy In the dropdown list not seen data. Only Root.
2 I can't modify or delete this record ( ID=1, ID=2) in Entities session.. I'm Surer Admin.
3 Administration > Users> Add user the field Location is blank.

Edit: I Delete from mysql entities records in 2 tables. After this the fild Location is ok.
