Could not connect to mailgate server TLS/SSL failure

This has worked  previously but just stopped a few weeks ago. We have not done any updates. Nothing has changed. Exchange 2013 Server.
GLPI version 0.90.1

  *** PHP Notice(8): Unknown: TLS/SSL failure for exchange.domain.edu: SSL negotiation failed (errflg=2)

I tried updated to the latest version of GLPI and the same thing happens.

In looking through all my logs it appears this has been working very inconsistently for sometime.

My connection string {exchange.doimain.edu:995/pop/ssl/novalidate-cert/notls}

Obviously domain.edu is not my actual domain.

I would suggest you to check your exchange server logs.
