Keeping track of Cables, consumables

Cables don't have serial numbers.  I don't want to enter a batch order 100 cables one by one into the inventory.  I'm thinking of entering them as consumables.  But I can only assign consumables to users.  In my case, cables are associated with computers, e.g. cables for server.  I want to know which computer has what kind of cables.  How should I work this out?  Thanks.

Re: Keeping track of Cables, consumables

For me, a cable is like a mouse or a keyboard : a peripheral

You can create a template in peripherals.
After in inventory/computers/connection you can choose the peripherals

CentOS 6.5 - CentOS 7.x
PHP 5.6 - PHP 7.x - MySQL 5.6  - MariaDB 10.2 + APC + oOPcache
GLPI from 0.72 to dev version
Certifiée ITIL (ITV2F, ITILF, ITILOSA)
